Before you take this survey, or any survey on the Urban Inquire website, please know that all our surveys are anonymous. It doesn’t matter if you’re logged into the forum, we do not gather identifiable information for our surveys.
Now, let us begin. Do you believe or still believe having kids is mandatory and you’re under an obligation to have at least one regardless if you want them or not? Are you being pressured by family, friends, a significant other, or a spouse to have children, then this survey is for you.
Message from UI Staff:
You are not obligated to have kids; NEVER allow anyone to convince you otherwise. If you’re wondering if you can handle a child, please give a new mother a break and babysit. Better yet, babysit a toddler. Never listen to anyone when they say, “Your own kids will be different”. The only difference is, you’re stuck with them and cannot return them to their parents because YOU are the parent.
Your life now revolves around your child. I repeat, your life now revolves around your child. If you are a young wife and you’ve yet to have any kids, please wait until you’re closer to thirty (30) years of age. Enjoy life with your (hopefully young) husband. Travel a little. Establish a life plan for when you do decide to have children. If you are too broke to travel, then you damn sure too broke to have kids. That alone will put you closer to poverty, especially women.
Ultimately, it’s your life to live, and I’m just adding my two cents.
